We received the sad word that Dan Pinckston had passed away on January 24, 2020.
Dan was a long time club member and Secretary in 2002, and 2003 and again in 2005 and 2006. He was Vice President in 2007 and 2008. Dan was truly a gentleman's gentleman. He was a hard worker and didn’t shy away from any tasks. In the 2008 North West meet he organised a very well received tour to the Othello Tunnels outside Hope (which I’d never heard of before) as well as several self guided tours. He had restored a BT7 which he drove on all the outings.
It was a sad day when he advised that he was selling his car and leaving the club because his Parkinson’s disease has advanced to the stage where it made it impossible for him to continue.
He will be well remembered.
