Michael arrived in Canada from the UK in 1965. He settled in Calgary and, after several vehicles, purchased his first Healey. This was his everyday wheels. He subsequently sold the Healey and, in 1967, moved to Vancouver. Due to his employment, he was subsequently transferred to Montreal, Toronto, Halifax and back to Montreal, then to New York, back to Toronto and finally to Vancouver.
He then made an online purchase of his second Austin Healey - a 1964 BJ8 from New York. He first undertook some basic repairs and from there went to full body off restoration of the car in New York..
15 months later on in January 2008 he proudly took delivery in Vancouver.
He subsequently joined the AHOABC. He participated in many events and his car won many awards. He was known for experimenting with various carburation and exhaust systems.
Michael was deeply involved in the club’s hosting of the 2012 Rendezvous at Tia Na Mara. He contacted the Frederique Constant Watch makers in Geneva and secured from them, one of their signature Austin Healey watches as a keystone item in the club auction at that event.
Michael was also an actor and appeared in several popular commercials - one in particular as a shady investment dealer.
Recently he moved to Vancouver Island with his wife Nicole. He subsequently sold his Healey and delved into the world of E Type Jaguars.
Sadly, he passed away on Nov 4th after a fight with Cancer.
