2025 is the 50th Anniversary of the Austin Healey Owners Association of British Columbia.
Accordingly, the executive and other members felt it was appropriate to hold some kind of Celebration for this event..
It was decided that the club would hold a 50th Birthday Celebration for all members—past and present.
A venue was researched and the Lulu Island Winery was selected because of their facilities and their ample parking.
The date of July 6th was chosen. A caterer was searched for and the Winery advised of one that often catered to their events. Which was chosen.
Meetings were set up, a style of event was discussed and agreed on and a menu selected.
A list of past members with email address was made and assigned to various members in an attempt to contact them. To this end we were reasonably successful and many were contacted and eager to attend.
In original discussions it was felt we would probably have in the neighbourhood of 50 people show up. By the evnt day we 80 committments to attend. in actual fact the number was great due to spouses and parftners attending.
The number of cars attending was way beyond expectations. We had a total of 32 1/2 cars on display. 32 1/2 ?? One car, in it's final stages of restoration arrived on a trailer - minus it's body. But, it ran it just didn't look pretty!
